Abstract
Reachability analysis provides valuable insights into the behavior of dynamical systems but is often a computationally expensive process. This paper uses ellipsoidal techniques to formulate analytical approximations of reachable sets for spacecraft relative motion impulsive maneuvers. The analytical state transition matrix for the linearized relative equations of motion allows for an analytical expression of a terminal reachable set, a zero-input reachable set, and a zero-state reachable set. These sets are subject to a limited impulse magnitude and uncertainty in the initial relative state. Computation of these sets involves ellipsoidal operations, which are computationally efficient thus making onboard implementation possible.
