Abstract
This paper introduces the concept of estimating a spacecraft's ability to recover after suffering an anomaly (natural or manmade) through a quantitative correlation between subsystem pre-launch testing and an assessment of on-orbit survivability and reliability. This quantitative correlation is known as the Spacecraft Survivability Index.
