Abstract
This paper demonstrates an antenna manifold calibration method for a dual polarized antenna array and RF front-end for use in GNSS applications. The process described in this paper uses a two-step process to characterize the RF receiver front-end and the antenna array. A GNSS signal simulator is used to generate a reference signal for calibration of a multi-channel RF front-end. An anechoic chamber is used to characterize the phase and gain biases of the dual-polarized phased antenna array. These combined results can then be used to characterize and compensate for the biases of the RF receiving system in a live-sky operational environment for beamforming and direction of arrival GNSS applications.
