AFIT Scholar is open to submissions from AFIT personnel. Faculty may submit on their own or send the work in by

Requirement for all submissions to AFIT Scholar:

According to the 88 ABW PA’s website, any material mentioning the DAF, DoD, or other government activities intended for public release, or Distribution A, must undergo a Security and Policy Review. [Link is available to AFIT personnel on the AFIT/CZ intranet].

Examples needing the AFIT S&PR process include, but are not limited to:

  • Abstracts & Journal Articles
  • Theses & Dissertations
  • Technical Papers & Manuscripts
  • Briefings, Speeches & Presentations
  • Photos & Videos
  • Press releases & news articles
  • Institutional Reports

Document S&PR approval is the responsibility of the submitting author. The AFIT Scholar administrator cannot submit works to the S&PR process on behalf of any author(s). AFIT Scholar cannot host any work that is not Distribution A.

Faculty Submissions

AFIT Faculty may submit their research publication online through a direct submission form. They may also contact to be paired with a librarian who will assist with the submission process.

To submit the document yourself, log into the My Account tab at the top of the page, and click Submit Research. After you submit the Work, the submission will be placed in a queue for review and posting. You will be kept up to date on the progress via the email you provide in your account. All submissions are reviewed for copyright compliance.

  • To request the assistance of the AFIT Scholar Administrator to submit your article, click . The email approach is strongly recommended if you have a batch of works.

Student Research

AFIT theses and dissertations are automatically added to AFIT Scholar by library staff, provided the works are cleared for public release through the process detailed by AFIT’s Security and Policy Review. These student theses and dissertations are openly accessible in the Theses and Dissertations collection after an embargo period is observed.

In addition to theses and dissertations, the Student Publications collection on AFIT Scholar now features students published “on their own” without AFIT Faculty co-authors, in USAF mission-related journal articles and conference proceedings. To include a journal article or conference paper published during enrollment at AFIT, send the work with full citation information to
