Abstract
The practical aspects of uncertainty reporting for the first three steps of the pressure measurement chain (data recording, digitization, and electronically scanned pressure transducer) are developed, including the underlying statistical background. An experiment to determine the validity of the assumption of normally distributed uncertainty was conducted and results are reported. The impacts of data digitization on the application of the central limit theorem to reduction of uncertainty in pressure data collection are considered.
